November and December Children’s Museum events

The following events will be in November and December at Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge, 461 W. Outer Drive.



KAMR Fifth Sunday

Sunday, Nov. 30, from 1 until 4 p.m.

The Knoxville Area Model Railroaders will hold an extra fifth-Sunday open house. Come see their clubhouse and learn about model railroading on this special afternoon.



Charlie’s Book Club

Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

December’s free book for children ages 6 through 10 is now available.

The book is: “The Shortest Day: Celebrating the Winter Solstice,” by Wendy Pfeffer.

There will be one book per child while supplies last.

This program is made possible by the Sandy Shapiro Guryan Reading Fund.

Charlie’s Storytime

Friday, Dec. 19, at 10:30 a.m.

The book is “The Night Before Kwanza” by Natasha Wing and Kirsti Jewel. This program is for preschoolers and their caregivers.



Kids’ Night Out: Holiday Fun

Friday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Children in grades kindergarten through four will enjoy a fun–filled night including exhibit play and exploration, an ornament-making activity and a pizza supper.

Third Sunday

Sunday, Dec. 21, from 1 until 4 p.m.

Visit the Knoxville Area Model Railroaders’ clubhouse and enjoy special activities with the Oak Ridge Amateur Radio Club and the Knoxville Philatelic Society. The event is free with museum admission.



Weekly events

Toddler Playtime in the Preschool Room is on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. until noon.

Crafty Wednesday in the Craft and Science Room is on Wednesdays from 1 until 4 p.m.

Musical Morning in the Music Room will be on Thursdays from 10 a.m. until noon.
