Clinton Liquor now open next to Habaneros

Although the sign for the business has been up for several months, Clinton Liquor just opened for business on Friday, Nov. 21, said manager Hugo Vargas, son of one of the owners of Habaneros, who are brothers Jaime and Hugo Vargas.
“We have a big selection of beer, wine, and liquor, including bourbon, scotch, tequila and vodka, and we will be adding more as we find out what people like,” Vargas said. “We’re trying to make it feel like home.”
The store also sells Coke products and various mixers, he said.
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, he said.
“We’re closed only on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter,” Vargas said.
The Clinton Habaneros restaurant opened in June 2018, the third Habaneros location for the Vargas family in the Knoxville area.
Originally from Michoacán, Mexico, the Vargas family opened their first Habaneros restaurant at 4704 Asheville Highway in Knoxville in 2012, then opened a second location at 4620 Greenway Drive in Knoxville in 2016.
