Thousands turn out to see Clinton’s Christmas parade
The annual Clinton Christmas parade drew thousands of people into the downtown area last Saturday night with floats and other entries, including the two local high school bands.
Cool, clear weather made a perfect night for the parade, with no rain in the forecast.
There were plenty of floats, dance groups and other participants in the parade, which ran for more than an hour through the downtown area.
It began at 6 p.m. on Eagle Bend Road, moved up Market Street, and turned left on Main Street before wrapping up past the Anderson County Courthouse.
The parade, sponsored by the Historic Downtown Clinton organization, city of Clinton and the Ooten Law Firm, followed a similar event the evening before in Rocky Top.
Norris held its own parade at the same time as Clinton’s, led by the Norris Fire Department.
