23 teachers achieve tenure at AC schools

Twenty-three teachers received tenure in Anderson County Schools this December.

Jo Williams made the motion, and Don Bell seconded, to approve their tenure.

Board of Education Chairman Scott Gillenwaters presented certificates and pins to some of these teachers as they came up for photographs at the Dec. 11, although not all could attend.

“Once teachers get tenure, unless something happens in their life, they usually stay with us from now on and it makes sure that they’re a great teacher, so we thank you for what you’ve done,” said Director of Schools Tim Parrott.

Receiving tenure were Brianna Alpers, special education pre-k for Clinton High School; Chelsea Baeta, special education teacher for Andersonville Elementary School; Seth Boles, English language learning teacher district-wide; Zan Braden, physical education teacher for Norwood Elementary School.

Emily Brodnax, kindergarten through fifth grade teacher at Norwood Elementary School; Amanda Brooks, kindergarten through fifth grade teacher at Grand Oaks Elementary School; Christopher Cool, assistant principal at Clinton High School; Archie Dukes, automotive teacher at Anderson County Career and Technical Center.

Madison Floyd, teacher at Norris Elementary School; Jacob Irwin, English teacher at Clinton High School; Noah Jenkins, social studies teacher at Clinton High School; James Kurban, physical education teacher at Norris Elementary School; Lauren Lovingood, kindergarten through fifth grade teacher at Grand Oaks Elementary School.

Megan Lyness, eighth grade teacher at Anderson County High School; Amanda Malott, special-education teacher at Fairview Elementary School; Regina McCone, art teacher at Lake City Elementary School; Roya Mitchell, counselor at Grand Oaks Elementary School.

Ramona Owen, kindergarten through fifth grade teacher at Norwood Elementary School; Ethan Palmer, English language learning teacher district- wide; James Quick, criminal justice teacher at Anderson County Career and Technical Center.

Christine Rose, kindergarten through fifth grade teacher at Grand Oaks Elementary School; Julia Trzaskowski, social studies teacher at Clinton High School; and Daniel Whaley, math teacher at Clinton High School.
