Veterans breakfast Saturday at Community Center

U.S. Army veteran Bobby Mauk shows off his custom T-shirt at February’s Veterans Appreciation Breakfast.
Military veterans from Anderson County are invited to come together Saturday (March 14) for the monthly Veterans Breakfast at the Clinton Community Center, 101 S. Hicks St.

The chow line opens at 8:30 a.m. and there will be a brief program at 9 a.m. honoring veterans.

This month’s breakfast, hosted by Anderson County citizens, is sponsored by state Rep. Rick Scarbrough.

This month’s doughnuts are sponsored by the East Tennessee Foundation for Women Veterans.

These breakfasts are held to recognize and honor local veterans and their families for their service to the United States.

Many generous donors are also recognized for providing door prizes, including a monthly gift card donated by the East Tennessee Foundation for Women Veterans.

Anderson County residents and community volunteers are working together to make the breakfasts a free monthly event that will allow veterans of all ages and branches to fellowship and share stories together.

Veterans are welcome to bring spouses, family or friends.

The city of Clinton is recognized as a special sponsor for hosting the monthly location and setup. Local media are especially recognized for their role in letting veterans know about the breakfasts each month.
