Driver killed in Friday morning crash in Clinton

A fatal crash reportedly occurred on North Charles G. Seivers Boulevard on Friday, March 6.

The Clinton Police Department reported in an official Facebook post the next day that the crash occurred at about 6:52 a.m. near Bland Road.

The department stated that its preliminary investigation indicated that Landon Brooks was driving a red Suzuki Vitara west on the boulevard. His vehicle then crossed the median and struck a gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup on the eastbound side of the roadway.

“Tragically, Mr. Brooks was deceased when officers arrived on the scene,” the department stated.

The occupant of the pickup was injured and received medical treatment.

The department’s Fatal Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is leading the ongoing investigation, the department stated.

“We ask that the community keep those involved and their families in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” the department stated.

“Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.”
