Type One Energy open house May 9
People can learn more about the new fusion energy plans for the former Bull Run Fossil site by stopping by any time at Claxton Community Center, 1071 Edgemoor Road in the Claxton community, on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Type One Energy is working with TVA to build a new type of power plant at the site, one that gets energy from fusion — atoms joining together rather than splitting apart as at all currently operational commercial nuclear plants. They hope to have it ready by 2035.
“If you’re curious about what’s next for Bull Run, this is a chance to meet the team, learn about fusion energy, and ask questions directly in an informal setting,” Type One announced on Facebook.
The event is open to everyone. It will include ice cream and activities for children.
