Clinton High School’s flag football team won its first-ever regional playoff game Monday night, routing Knoxville Central 47-6 at Dragon Stadium.

The Lady Dragons (11-2) will host Bearden on Friday night in the Region 1-AA championship game. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

Clinton edged the Lady Bulldogs 13-7 in the regular-season meeting between the teams, as Bearden held CHS to its lowest point total of the season. The Lady Bulldogs advanced with a semifinal win over rival Farragut on Monday night in West Knoxville.

The Lady Dragons dominated Central after defeating the Lady Bobcats 53-6 during the regular season.

“Last time we played them, it was all about our defense and we had a lot of pick-sixes,” Clinton Coach Brittany Siler said. “Tonight, it was just all over the place.”

In a commanding performance, Clinton was fueled by senior standout Addi Gamble, who accounted for 36 points. She returned two interceptions for touchdowns, caught a scoring pass, added two punt-return touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass.

Quarterback Lanee Carmichael also tossed two touchdown passes in the victory.

Clinton closed the regular season Thursday night with a 47-0 road win over Karns.

Carmichael went 13-of-16 passing for 235 yards and five touchdowns in that contest. Hanna Harvey added two rushing touchdowns, while Gamble hauled in three touchdown receptions and recorded an interception. Josie Moody had two scoring catches, and Madison Tye added an interception on defense.
