Letter to the Editor
Dear Anderson County,
My name is Lucas Heaton, and I am running for state executive committeeman, District 5.
I am a lifelong resident of Anderson County, and a proud Conservative Republican.
I first got involved with politics when I was 8 years old when my mom took me to go vote because she wanted to show me how the process works. I attended various political events all throughout my childhood.
In 2022, I was asked to help restart the Anderson County Young Republicans and run for chairman.
During my time as chairman, we helped the Anderson County Republican Party with different events, and helped get young people involved with the Republican Party.
In 2024, I was asked to run as a committed statewide delegate for President Donald Trump. I won my election with nearly 130,000 votes across the state of Tennessee.
In 2025, I held a very successful fundraiser for the Anderson County Young Republicans with Congressman Tim Burchett as our speaker. I have stepped away as chairman of the Anderson County Young Republicans to run for state executive committeeman. ‘
I first decided to run for state executive committee back in 2024 when I saw some stuff that the committee was doing. I almost decided not to run when my best friend and my biggest supporter, Blayr, went to be with the Lord.
I decided to continue to run because I know she would want me to run. My goal is to help grow the Republican Party with the next generation of voters, push for closing the primaries and doing party registration, and to support the Republican platform in its entirety.
Anderson County is my home, and I believe that conservative values are what make our area great.
As your next state executive committeeman, I will work to grow the Republican Party and make sure our conservative values are upheld.
I look forward to meeting with y’all, and I hope I can earn your vote in the August 6thElection!
God Bless,
Lucas Heaton
Clinton
