Clinton council approves donations
The Clinton City Council has voted to provide $197,400 in funding to nonprofit organizations and Anderson County agencies.
The vote came during the council’s June 22 meeting.
Funding approved for nonprofit organizations includes:
• Junior Achievement — $5,000
• Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties — $2,000
• Anderson County Economic Development Association — $21,000
• Anderson County Chamber of Commerce — $15,000
• The Pearl Foundation, which operates Historic Downtown Clinton — $45,000
• Anderson County Fair Association — $1,000
• ASAP of Anderson County — $10,000
• Recreation donations (to be distributed at a later date) — $4,000
Funding approved for Anderson County government organizations includes:
• Office on Aging — $2,000
• Channel 95 Public Access Channel — $12,000
• Library Board — $80,400.
