Letters to the Editor

To the Editor,

Local elections will soon choose who we wish to represent us in District 1 for Anderson County School Board and as our representative for the Anderson County Commission. Two candidates have served us well, Tracy Wandell District 1 County Commissioner and Jo Williams District 1 School Board Member. Both have a long term commitment to the residents of the Claxton Community and have stood by us and represented us well. Jo has worked diligently getting Claxton Elementary designated as a STEM school and getting construction underway of the new elementary facility. She stays in touch with her constituents by attending school festivals and through her church providing teachers with occasional appreciation luncheons.

Tracy Wandell as our District Commissioner has enthusiastically supported efforts to bring more back to our community. He worked hard with the state to get the American Nuclear site cleared and cleaned, he has supported the Claxton Volunteer Fire Department which is one of our most valuable assets. His tireless search for a community ambulance station in Claxton will continue. He holds his position on various boards as vital and is active in getting answers to the under construction animal shelter. His quest to replace the park recently razed will continue. Tracy has always responded to questions in person, emails, messages, texts and phone calls. I give my absolute support to these two valuable assets to the Claxton Community.
