Clinton golf reloaded for 2026 season

“We have 15 players, and that’s the biggest team that we’ve ever had,” Cain said. “That’s a good problem to have.
“Only five can score, but this has made practice more competitive already. We have a decent work ethic, and we’re trying to make that a little better.”
The Dragons are coming off their best season in several years, and return a veteran roster led by senior Grant Hannah, who earned low-medalist honors at the District 4-AA tournament last season.
“I’m excited for Grant, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do,” Cain said. “He’s a leader, and he’s playing better than he’s ever played.”
Other returning players for the Dragons include seniors J.P. Robbins, Aden Golden, Isaiah Williams and Beau Mauri, along with sophomores Finn Pridemore, Zander Ford, Cal Kirkpatrick and Parker Douglas.
Newcomers Jarred Pacinos and Eric Newport add even more depth to a roster with lofty expectations.
Cain believes the Dragons have the talent and experience to contend for championships this fall.
“Last year, we came pretty close to winning the district championship,” he said. “We just missed it.
“This year, we have the experience and we have the bodies to do it. We want to win the region and go to state together. There’s no excuse not to get it done this year unless we don’t put the work in, and I’ve given them every opportunity to put the work in.”
Cain also welcomes a familiar face to the coaching staff this season.
Former Dragon standout Parker Hannah has joined the program as an assistant coach. The older brother of Grant Hannah, he played four years under Cain and served as a team captain during multiple seasons.
“He’s a big help for us,” Cain said. “He helps get practice started when I can’t get there, and he organizes things. He and Grant are great people, and they have a great family that’s always there to help us and help the community.”
On the girls’ side, Clinton returns senior Sahara Lowe and junior Reese Hollifield.
Lowe enters her final high school season after enjoying previous success with the Lady Dragons, while Hollifield also returns with valuable varsity experience.
“I’m really excited for Sahara for her senior year,” Cain said. “She’s worked really hard during the offseason. She has a swing coach, and I’m really excited for her.”
Clinton opens the 2026 season July 27 with a home tri-match against Kingston and Anderson County at Centennial Golf Course.
