New Balance bets on Anderson County

The Boston-based company will now provide apparel and shoes for the Mavericks’ entire athletic program, replacing the school’s previous partnership with Adidas. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“I can’t share the financials, but New Balance approached us through Bacon and Co.,” Anderson County Athletic Director Gary Terry said in a text message.
“They had seen our social media footprint and wanted to be a part of it.
“They wrote up a whole-school deal for all athletics at Anderson County High School to make us the first and exclusive high school in the state of Tennessee.”
Terry said the school’s athletic department and administration carefully reviewed the proposal before approving the partnership.
“We reviewed the deal as an athletic department and administrative team and made the decision to switch from Adidas to New Balance,” Terry said.
“The quality of the service and the product has been outstanding so far, and we are excited to be the first and only school in Tennessee to represent the New Balance brand.
“We are thankful to Bacon and Co. for their support of our programs, and we are excited to kick off a new partnership with New Balance out of Boston.”
The Mavericks recently unveiled their new football uniforms as part of the deal.
Anderson County will continue to wear its traditional navy blue jerseys at home and white on the road, while adding a Columbia blue alternate uniform as a tribute to Lake City.
“Coach (Davey) Gillum has always included an alternate jersey, and his idea was a tribute to Lake City with the Columbia Blue uniform,” Terry said. “We have tried a few times with it in the other set, but finally got the right one, I think.
“It models the Ole Miss uniform.”
