Davis, Golden sworn in as student reps

Parker Davis will represent Anderson County High School, while Aden Golden will represent Clinton High School.
Their respective principals chose them.
While neither will vote on items before the board, the two will give updates at each meeting about news from their respective schools. They were sworn in at the July 9 board meeting.
Andrea Russell, the school system’s data and evaluation director, introduced them to the board.
Russell called Davis an “exceptional student,” and said he was already actively involved in student life. He is on the marching band, and a member of HOSA-Future Health Professionals, Beta Club, Spanish Club and National Honors Society.
He plans to study public health and Spanish before working as a primary care physician “with the goal of serving the people of rural Appalachia,” Russell said.
“We look forward to the perspective and leadership he will bring throughout the school year,” she said.
Golden is active in baseball, golf, the National Honors Society and student leadership.
He plans to study chemical engineering at Georgia Tech.
“We are excited to have Aiden represent the students of Clinton High School on our board this year, and we look forward to the insight, leadership and student perspective he will bring to our discussion,” Russell said.
