The fifth-annual Sip of Summerfest event will be held from 6-10 p.m. Friday (July 31) at the Kincaid House, 710 Eagle Bend Road, presented by the Historic Downtown Clinton organization.

Sip of Summerfest will feature tastings by area breweries, live music, contests and more.

It follows last Saturday’s “Christmas in July” event by Clinton’s downtown merchants.

Melissa Douglas, whose Trackside Antiques store on Market Street was open last weekend for the first time in over a month after a motorist plowed her vehicle into the front of the building, said her shop was packed with shoppers much of the day.

“We had people in here who came from as far away as Ohio for the Christmas in July event,” she said.

On its website, Historic Downtown Clinton said of the Sip of Summerfest that it was “Sending out an S.O.S. to classic rock fans. AM Station will be cranking out rock tunes from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s for Sip of Summerfest this year. Good beer. Great friends. Classic rock.”

Among participating breweries are Orange Hat Brewery, Tri Dog Brewing Company, Tennessee Brew Works, Lenoir City Barrel House, Clinch River Brewing, and Country Boy Brewing of Georgetown, Kentucky.

Food will be provided by Hamock’s, Hoskins Drug Store, Happi Hostess, Little Bird Macarons, Apple Blossom Café, and Gather on Market.

Tickets for that event are on sale now, with general admission $50, and $25 for kids and designated drivers (no alcohol included). They may be purchased online at zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/sip-of-summerfest.
