Norris clerk honored with service award

Huskie has served as the city’s administrative assistant for the past five years.
Her duties include managing utility billing, assisting customers with water and sewer accounts, notifying residents of account issues and supporting the daily operations of City Hall.
City officials said Huskie has earned a reputation for going beyond her regular responsibilities to assist residents.
One example is her practice of contacting customers when unusually high water usage appears on their accounts, helping them identify possible leaks before they result in significant water loss or even more-costly bills.
“We appreciate Christina and everything she does for the Water and Sewer Department,” Waterworks Superintendent Tony Wilkerson said. “She is a true team player and always tries to help the community and our staff.”
City Manager Bailey Whited said Huskie’s dedication to public service makes her a deserving recipient of the award.
“Christina demonstrates every day what excellent public service should look like,” Whited said. “She takes a personal interest in helping our residents, and goes above and beyond to resolve concerns. This recognition is well-deserved.”
Huskie’s ties to Norris extend beyond her work with the city. Although she no longer lives in Norris, she was a resident for 15 years, where she raised her two sons, Caden and Chaysen.
Before joining the city’s staff, she also served on the Norris Animal Shelter Commission.
City officials said her longstanding connection to the community continues to inspire her commitment to providing dependable, compassionate service to Norris residents.
