Sean Miller bridges gap for Robertsville

Miller takes over for Tyler Carr, who served as interim coach at Robertsville in 2025 while Ron Gray battled health issues. Gray died on June 8.
Carr will remain on the staff as an assistant under Miller, who has spent nearly a decade coaching at the Boys and Girls Club, where he remains active.
“Ron was my guy, and what happened to him was terrible,” Miller said.
Carr’s decision to remain on the coaching staff was instrumental in Miller accepting the head coaching job.
Miller has coached all levels, from flag football to tackle football, at the Boys and Girls Club, working with players ages 5-13.
A lifelong Oak Ridge resident, Miller played on Oak Ridge High School’s state championship team in 1991. He also played middle school football at Jefferson.
Now, however, he finds himself on the other side of the Jefferson-Robertsville rivalry.
“That all stopped and that all changed when we went to high school,” Miller said. “I want to keep the gap bridged between the Boys and Girls Club and the middle school.”
The Rams struggled last season after winning the league championship in 2024. Robertsville underwent a rebuilding season, but Miller has put the past firmly behind his new team.
“I want to develop football players, and I want to build young men who are good both on and off the field.”
Away from the field, Miller devotes much of his time to his family.
“I love to spend time with my family,” he said. “I’m kind of boring. I pour everything into my kids and my family.”
Miller and his wife, Brenda, have been married since 2005. The couple has two children. Malik is a junior at Oak Ridge High School, and William is a rising sixth grader at Robertsville. William plays football but is taking the 2026 season off.
Miller is a Florida State fan and also follows Tennessee closely. He grew up rooting for the New York Giants before later becoming a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He has also cheered for Washington.
No matter the team, Miller remains a devoted fan of the game he now hopes to teach to the next generation of Rams.
