Free admission for elementary students
Anderson County Schools has announced that elementary school students may attend qualifying regular-season sporting events at Anderson County and Clinton high schools for free.
The district announced the new procedure after a Facebook post circulated claiming that allowing youth football players free admission could constitute a TSSAA recruiting violation and that the program would be reported.
Under the district’s new procedure, elementary students enrolled in Anderson County or Clinton City schools may attend regular-season high school events for free. Students must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
The free admission does not apply to postseason events or TSSAA-governed tournaments.
