Maness seeks second term

Since joining the council in December 2022, Maness has worked with city staff and residents to advance projects, address concerns and prepare Clinton for responsible growth.
During her first term, Clinton maintained balanced budgets, paid off its debt and increased employee compensation by 26 percent over four years, without raising taxes. Maness backed investments in police and fire services, emergency equipment, fire training, schools and infrastructure. Her votes advanced the reconstruction of Jaycee Park Pool, playground improvements, pickleball courts and Community Center bowling alley renovations.
She supported a partnership among the city, Clinton City Schools and the Boys & Girls Club that converted the former armory at Jaycee Park into an affordable workforce childcare center for city employees and teachers. In South Clinton, she helped advance traffic-calming measures, additional stop signs, Hiway Drive sidewalks and improved street lighting. She also backed the Gateway Overlay Ordinance, which guides development and protects Clinton’s major entrances, including 25W.
As one of the lead planners, Maness helped organize the city’s first major concert on July 3, bringing families downtown and visitors from outside Clinton. She looks forward to more community events where families can connect and make memories.
Maness serves on the Tennessee Municipal League State Policy Board, giving Clinton a voice in statewide discussions affecting Tennessee municipalities. She was one of 16 city leaders selected for the inaugural MTAS PULSE TN cohort. Through PULSE TN, she is developing a literacy project for Clinton students. In 2025, Maness graduated from Leadership Anderson County and completed a Master of Public Administration to strengthen her knowledge and better serve Clinton.
Locally, she serves on the Historic Downtown Clinton Board, Clinton Tree Board, Anderson County Chamber Foundation and Clinton Athletic Club TN Board, she is also president-elect of Clinton Rotary. These roles build community partnerships.
In a second term, Maness plans to continue protecting Clinton’s financial stability, support city employees, first responders and schools, improve infrastructure throughout the city, and plan responsibly and strategically for Clinton’s future.
“Clinton is more than a place I serve. It is my home,” Maness said. “I am deeply grateful for the trust the people of Clinton have placed in me and proud of our progress. I would be honored to continue serving them for a second term.”
