• Fraud/scam: Clinton police responded to 125 W. Broad Street at 11:04 a.m. Sept. 24 after a report of fraud involving fraudulent use or illegal possession of a credit or ATM card. The suspect was listed as unknown. The case remains active.
• Theft: Clinton police responded to Weigel’s, 2409 N. Charles G. Seivers Blvd., at 11:12 a.m. Sept. 27 after a report of theft of property. The suspect was listed as unknown. The case was closed.
• Shoplifting: Clinton police responded to Dollar General, 330 S. Charles G. Seivers Blvd., at 1:39 p.m. Sept. 27 after a report of shoplifting. The case was cleared by arrest.
• Suspicious person: Clinton police responded to a Clinch Ave. address at 7:36 p.m. Sept. 27 after a report of a suspicious person. The offenses listed in the report included shoplifting, vandalism, resisting a stop, frisk, halt, arrest or search, and public intoxication. The case was cleared by arrest.

• Clinton — Sept. 16: Deputies served a contempt-of-court warrant on a person who was transported from the Roane County Detention Facility to the Anderson County Detention Facility. A court date was set for Sept. 24.
• Clinton — Sept. 16: Deputies served a violation-of-probation warrant on a person who was transported from the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility to the Anderson County Detention Facility. A court date was set for Sept. 21.
• Andersonville — Sept. 16: Deputies went to River Road regarding a wanted person and confirmed several active warrants. During the investigation, deputies reported finding suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in a shed. One person was taken into custody on the warrants, while another was charged with maintaining a dwelling for drug use, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. The suspected methamphetamine was collected as evidence.
• Clinton — Sept. 16: Deputies responded to a reported vehicle accident at the Dollar General Market on Oliver Springs Highway. A man found near the business allegedly showed signs of impairment and acknowledged driving the vehicle. Deputies reported finding suspected methamphetamine during a search. The man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and possession of methamphetamine and was taken to the Anderson County Detention Facility.
• Heiskell — Sept. 17: Deputies responded to Moores Gap Road after a man reported property stolen from an unlocked recreational vehicle. The missing items included two propane tanks, two RV batteries, an RV power cord, a 50-foot extension cord and two power cord adapters. The property was valued at approximately $850. No suspects were identified.
• Powell — Sept. 17: Deputies took a fraud report from a woman who said she received an email claiming approximately $807 had been taken from an ORNL Federal Credit Union account through PayPal. After calling a number in the email, she was instructed to move $25,000 between her own accounts. The woman later contacted ORNL and froze the accounts. She reported that no money was actually taken from her account.
• Andersonville — Sept. 18: Deputies documented a civil dispute involving money sent through Cash App that a complainant said was intended to help pay for a divorce. The complainant reported that the money was not used for its intended purpose and sought assistance recovering it. Deputies documented the matter for informational purposes because they reported insufficient probable cause to pursue criminal charges.
• Clinton — Sept. 18: During a traffic stop on Oliver Springs Highway, deputies discovered that a passenger had an active Morgan County warrant for violation of probation. The person was taken into custody and transported to the Anderson County Detention Facility.
• Oliver Springs — Sept. 19: Deputies responded to Breeden Lane after a dispute arose while several people were retrieving belongings from a residence. Deputies reported that one resident had displayed a firearm before their arrival. After interviewing those involved, deputies determined no crime had occurred, and the parties agreed to leave the residence.
• Andersonville — Sept. 19: Deputies responded to Lovely Bluff Road regarding a property dispute. Deputies reviewed a recently recorded deed and determined the people removing belongings were the current property owners. No criminal offense was established, and the parties were advised that the dispute was a civil matter.
• Clinton — Sept. 20: Deputies responded to Edgemoor Road for a reported verbal disturbance. Family members told deputies an intoxicated adult son became involved in an argument concerning his drinking. Deputies were told the incident remained verbal and no physical altercation occurred. The man left before deputies arrived.
• Clinton — Sept. 20: Deputies took custody of a person on an outstanding contempt-of-court warrant. The person was transported from the Union County Sheriff’s Office to the Anderson County Detention Facility. A court date was set for Sept. 30.
• Heiskell — Sept. 20: Deputies responded to Brushy Valley Road after a verbal argument. Deputies were told one person had entered a residence without permission while retrieving a child’s car seat. No evidence of a physical altercation was reported, and the person left with the child and car seat.
• Rocky Top — Sept. 20: Deputies responded to New Clear Branch Road after a vehicle owner reported damage believed to have been caused by dogs. Deputies reported scratches consistent with dog paws or claws and damage to a fender consistent with canine teeth. The damage was estimated at approximately $2,000. The owner of the dogs was unknown.
• Heiskell — Sept. 21: Deputies responded to Moores Gap Road after a man reported tools stolen from an unlocked trailer. The missing property included a chop saw, table saw and generator. Deputies reported no signs of forced entry and no serial numbers were available for the stolen items. The case was closed pending additional information or identification of a suspect.
