Civitan Club awards three scholarships

The Anderson County Civitan Club recently awarded three $1,000 scholarships to local high school seniors.

Each year, the club offers scholarships to area seniors who plan to pursue careers that benefit people in the community with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Trysta Brown, an Anderson County High School graduate, is the daughter of Sandra and Brian Brown of Rocky Top. She plans to attend Roane State Community College through its 2+2 program before continuing her education at Tennessee Tech University.

Brown plans to earn a degree in special education and become a comprehensive development classroom special education teacher.

While at Anderson County High School, she participated in the Peer Buddy program.

Isabel Worthington, a Clinton High School graduate, is the daughter of Nancy Worthington and Robert Morris of Clinton. She plans to study psychology.

Ella Rose Moore, also a Clinton High School graduate, is the daughter of Tammy Moore of Clinton. She received a $1,000 Allison Doake Scholarship and plans to attend the Tennessee Rehabilitation Center in Smyrna, where she will study hospitality and nutrition.
