Library Events
These recurring events for different age groups will be at the Clinton Public Library in October at 118 South Hicks Street.
Children’s events
There will be no children’s events from Oct. 5 through 9. Otherwise they will be on their regular schedule.
• Family StoryTime is on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Come for stories and songs, then make a matching themed craft. This program is aimed at pre-kindergarten through early elementary ages.
The themes are Oct. 14 pumpkins, Oct. 21 cats, and Oct. 28 Halloween.
• Book Babies is on Thursday at 10 a.m. will feature a themed set of stories and songs for ages birth to two years old.
The themes are Oct. 15 pumpkins, Oct. 22 cats and Oct. 29 Halloween.
• Music and Movement is on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Make some noise and dance.
• Pajama StoryTime will be on Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. Come in your PJs to have a story before bedtime.
Teen activities
• Every Wednesday from 2:15 until 4:30 p.m. except Oct. 7, Clinton Public Library provides TeenSpace for ages 11 through 18, a place to hang out, socialize, and have fun. The library will provide access to video games, board games, activities, snacks and drinks.
Adult activities
• Adult Book Club meets the third Saturday of each month at 1:30 p.m. It will be Oct. 17 this month with the theme “something supernatural.” Rather than a specific title, the group presents a theme so that you can select a book that matches your taste and learn about new and familiar titles.
• Adult Crafty Friday on Oct. 12 and every third Friday at 5:30 p.m. CPL will provide supplies and guidance on a different craft every month. This month will be “Spooky Watercolor.” There is no charge, but registration is required in advance, and can be done through the website or in person at our front desk.
• Clinch River Needleworkers meets Tuesdays at 1 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. These are open times to work on individual and group textile projects, learn more about the craft, and share your work. They are open to new members of all ages, skill levels and textile arts.
• Every Monday at 10 a.m. CPL hosts meetings of the Tennessee History Program. They are currently going through the history of Tennessee, county-by-county, exploring the patchwork of local history that makes up our state. Attendance is open to all.
