CORRE plans annual meeting for Nov. 6
The Coalition of Oak Ridge Retired Employees will hold its annual meeting at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the New Hope Center at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge.
All retirees are invited to attend, along with representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy and congressional offices.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn about the coalition’s ongoing efforts to protect retirement benefits and advocate for retirees and surviving spouses.
Established in 2002, the Coalition of Oak Ridge Retired Employees (CORRE) is a tax-exempt organization representing retirees and surviving spouses from Department of Energy contractor-managed facilities in Oak Ridge.
Those facilities include Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Y-12 National Security Complex and the former K-25 site, now known as East Tennessee Technology Park.
The organization’s mission is to secure fair and equitable retirement benefits for its members. CORRE works with Department of Energy contractors, local and state officials, congressional representatives and other organizations to protect, preserve and improve those benefits.
CORRE is operated entirely by volunteers and governed by a board of directors.
The organization remains committed to ensuring that the concerns of Oak Ridge retirees and surviving spouses are heard by the organizations and public officials whose decisions affect their retirement benefits.
